Here is the latch I put on my AR-10, gave me enough clearance.

I think I got mine a bit cheaper so shop around.
There is also the tacops, for a bit more money you get the whole charging handle;

John good to hear you got out and did some shooting. I know what you mean about the scope/charging handle clearance. there are after market charging handles to help out with the clearance issues.
