Hey my friends I made another short video on the use of the GTB...Gas Tube Brush...form MI. I have used this since getting my AR-10 to clean my gas tube after every shoot.
It beat the hell out of pipe cleaners and stores in almost any cleaning kit, include but stock kits. It will work for 16 to 20in. barrels, although I think you could probably use it on a 22in. if you where careful not to shove it in all the way. Give a look and see..............
i thought that the owners manual said that it wasnt necessary to do that, that the pressure alone would clean it. nice pink floyd in the background though.
Well my friend, it is like a self-cleaning oven.
They say you don't need to do it, but the way I look at it, it can't hurt, unless you shove the brush to far up. The end is tapered so it doesn't get all the way up to the gas-block if you get my meaning, and that is why I also use the compressed air to blow it out after running the brush through it. Some times I will plug the barrel at one end and seal the other end and blow air through it to make sure that the port is not plugged up.
