Hey all, just got this in an e-mail from LaRue Tactical. There is a new Kid in town..............The OSR....Optimized Sniper Rifle. Last year it came out for LE and Military purchases only, now it is out for civilian purchases as well. I got a pamphlet on this about 6 months ago, I have to say it is an impressive rifle and rival to our AR-10 family. Anyway check out the video, I thought it is way-cool.

Cool rifle, cool video, but its not an OSUTE. Optimized Sniper Ultra Tactical Extreme. Its getting harder for all of these Mfg's to come up with a new catch name for their current rifles.
Ever notice how many of them introduce visuals and descriptions to the public and then tell us its for LE and Military only? Of course, they're too much for most LE budgets and the military has their own rifle types. But then.......... next month, or next year or next quarter its all of a sudden available to us?
Great marketing tools, but the ploy is being used so often by so many that its become obvious.
No doubt its another very good rifle to add to a market full of very good rifles. Its like with Guitars. Once you're above a certain level of quality in wood, assembly techniques and sound all there is left is garnish, whistles and bells. In the upper atmosphere they're all a matter of taste.

I would have to agree all the way around, it is funny how they are only available to certain organizations or agencies then come out for the public soon there after.
The rifle is made by the STEALTH company which also make the other rifles (uppers and lowers) that they carry. I still would like to add one to my dream collection of .308 rifles.
I think that they are trying to keep up with the SUPER SASS and the M-110 SASS, now yours, well what can I say other than THAT is a beautiful piece of hardware and I would love to shoot that thing. I guess that yours is a bit more than would suit me as for all the work that you do on the ammo, but the range is absolutely outstanding, I consider it more like a custom built car, made just for a select few. It is something to be VERY proud of...........and I envy you.
The OSR has a couple of points that I personally don't care for, but hey that is me.
All in all though, it is an impressive weapon to be added to the .308 family of Auto Loaders.
