Couldn't figure where to put this so I started a new thread dedicated to any oddball thing of passing interest. The first entry is a link to the "Finngenerator", which will translate the meaning of your name into Finnish. Try it it's a hoot. My name is Vainaimo Otsola, which translates to a "Famous Hero Bear's Den".

Väinämö Petäjä (Vah-in-NAH-moo Pet-ah-YAH)

I just called a bro of mine in Helsinki to get the right pronunciation. It's like 5 PM there and he was drunk already. "I don't f**king hear from you in almost a f**king year and you f**king call me over some bulls**t fake Suomi name maker? What kind of s**t is that, Mikka?" He wasn't really that upset. One of Janni's favorite things is American profanity.

Väinämö — The poet and wise man in the Finnish epic Kalevala

Petäjä — Pine tree

So we have the same first name but I end up in a bear hole, and you end up with a pine tree?
Calling him in Helsinki, that is a classic. I didn't bother to put the umlauts and what not on mine. But it looks more authentic.
