For all those that will be shopping on Thursday (Thanks Giving) and Friday...Please remember those that are there to Quote Serve You...They are not the lower end of Society merely people doing a job that no one wants to do...Especially the Big Box Stores....If they seem unhappy or even bitter...remember that we are forced to be there instead of being with our friends and families on the holiday...Yes I said forced...if we want our jobs.
The Corporate Greed has gotten so far out of hand trying to be the First with the Sales that their Employees are the ones who pay the price, not being able to share in the Holiday as it is meant to be...
I myself will get off work at 6am on Thursday and have to be back in at 5Pm for the 6Pm sale.
Mind you my shift is normally 10pm to 7am....I will not get to spend time with my family nor will I get more than a few hours sleep and have to work a 12 hour shift to better serve the Public and the Corporate Greed...
For those of us who work in Retail...the holidays are our own personal Hell...dealing with bitchy wives, pissed off husbands...and screaming kids....and we take the blunt of all...
My point being my friends and anyone who reads this thread...Try to remember what we in the Retail industry must sacrifice and endure because of our jobs and what we must put up with to pay our bills...We are not the bottom of society, just trying to support our families the best way we can...
So Again...When shopping this holiday season...Think about why those people are not in the holiday spirit...would you be...
May god bless us all and I hope you all have a joyous Holiday Season...Just remember Us..

:I-agree:
I got my start as a Store Manager for a regional drug store chain. 60 hour weeks and Holiday stress was the norm. Couldn't agree more BMS.

:nicethread: Your service to the shopping public is appreciated even though it has been coerced by corporate greed. :usa:
I've never participated in the mayhem myself, I see it as unfair to those of you that are forced to work instead of being with family. It seems to be part of the fascist trend this country is embracing to me.
Most of the money I spend shopping is spent at Walmart, there are quality issues with some products and the treatment of employees but then choice is what this country is about. As far as guns and ammo I think Walmart has done more to keep them in the hands of everyday people than any other retailer, I only wish they could get more ammo!
As someone who spent most his life doing hard physical jobs that most look down on I can relate to your feelings about the lack of respect. Don't let them convince you! They only act this way because they KNOW they could not handle it themselves! In today's consumer society you are a lynchpin! Have a safe, and sane, holiday, I'll be thinking of all of you that are forced to work instead of being with family :usa:

And that My friends is why I will NOT go shopping on Thursday or Fridays of the ThanksGiving day nor that stinking black friday thing that the corp greed has thought up.
As far as I am concerned, every retailer in America should have their doors shut tight and locked during these times.
Just My two cents worth.
May God Bless You, that have to work these days and that this so called CHRISTmas season`ll slip by quickly.
I been wondering where You`ve been BMS, now I know the rest of the story.
You are missed in the forum, good hearing from You.

People at AA would hate my guts man. I woke up and something seemed to have happened in my sleep cuz I could not have forced a drink down my throat. It really freaked me out. I even went to a bar and for some reason, could only get out the words "grapefruit juice" and could not even think about a taking a sip of VO or Crown Royal that I had essentially been using to get through life for quite a few vicious years.

That of course set off quite a little chain of life changing events that brought me to whatever it is I am today.

If it had not been for whatever changed me that night, I would probably not be breathing today. Not cuz of booze. But from a lifestyle that would have sooner or later, ended me.

Damnedest thing I've ever been through...

Probably easier than dealing with a pack of pissed off Walmart employees though...
