I KNOW mine has. I've improved my technique due to some minor adjustments I've made from reading some of Lebben's and Colt's posts from a LONG way back and I also think that now that I've been on here for a while, I've just concentrated more on tighter groups and technique.
I've never been one to really bother shooting for an eyeball when I was fine with the ability to hit a head but now I find myself leaning more toward those tight, tiny shots that seemed more of a headache to me before.
Has your accuracy improved and what did it since you've been here? Equipment tips? Different ammo? Technique? What made the difference from info you gained here than from anywhere else?
The number one thing for me was my first visits to the sight convinced me to get the ArmaLite AR-10! That improved my accuracy for sure.
I reset my scope this last weekend at the range after watching the vid that Libertarian posted about eye relief. I'm still adjusting to the halo effect after decades of setting up to avoid it but the principal is definitely sound, it was very easy to tell when I didn't have the same cheek weld. This tip will pay dividends down the road for sure :twothumbs:
I finally got a chance to shoot some of my reloads that used numerous tips from the site, crimping die type, powder type, ect. I was very pleased with easy 1 moa groups out of most charges. Kudos to the AR-10, it functioned fine from the minimum load to 10% shy of max, the tightest groups were in the mid-range loads but they didn't fall off much in either direction.
Not a scientific test but I know where I'm heading if I ever get back to the reloading bench. :usa:
My accuracy is unknown at this time. Last time out I shot a 4-inch group at 200 yards and at 400 yards I was shooting 12 inch groups with a 5 mph crosswind. One of the best things I've learned from the site is how to use my mil-dot reticle thanks to Jody!
I think just showing up (reading all the posts) gives you a increased cumulative shooting IQ which is great. I wish more people would post their experiences.
I've struggled to get the advertised 1"MOA from my 10T with my reloads. Keefer and I obtained some FGMM with 168 gr SMK to try this weekend. If it groups 1" or sub MOA, I'll know I have more work to do. So far the best I've done is 1 3/8" at 100 yds. with my stuff.
