My state passed the "Castle Doctrine" last year that basically allows you to use a firearm in self defense on your own property if you feel physically threatened. In Minnesota, unless they have changed, you had to " retreat " even if the intruder was in your house, and only use a firearm as a last resort. I think they may have passed a castle doctrine law as well. I certainly hope so.
