Only problem is good luck finding .308 ammo! With all the ammo hysteria I figured .308 was a pretty safe caliber and that the .223, 9mm, and .45 ammo was going to be hard to find. Everywhere I've checked has loads of .223 on the shelf and not one box of .308!
Got to the range today. Set up on the 200 meter range. AR10 was shooting about six inches high from the last time I shot it in December. Dialed it in with about four shots. Too much coffee this morning, groups were nothing to write home about. Smallest was 3". I had given myself a 20 round limit of the good ammo (M118LR) then I tried this old Indian Army Surplus 147 gr.from the mid 70's I had found cheap from a local prepper. At 200 yards it shot about 4 inches higher then the M118 ammo, with groups about twice as big. To be expected, I suppose. The good news is without adjusting the scope, it was shooting only one inch above the bullseye at 100 meters. And got a couple of 2 inch groups at that distance. More than good enough for casual shooting. My goal is to shoot up all 400 rounds this summer, and reload it with 168 gr or 175 gr SMK's. So I can shoot and have my ammo too, so to speak.
By the way, no FTE's or FTF's.
