TV show, the show alone is enough to cause me to want gun control: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sons_of_Guns

They are also Red Jacket Firearms: www.redjacketfirearms.com

I tried watching this the other night and was embarrassed for them as they clearly are not embarrassed for themselves. Giving gun owners a bad name is nothing we need.

My guess is they are just dupes that are playing into the hands of the anti gun crowd...

To make it worse they are sponsored by ArmaLite??????????? Are they kidding?

:I-agree:
I put this show under the term "Redneck Soap Opera" with sincere apologies to all self respecting Rednecks everywhere.
My Son and I occasionally watch it simply to marvel at the lies and stretched truth. I am amazed that the Feds haven't payed a visit to the producer about having imposters portray themselves as Government purchasing agents among other things. This is "reality TV" at it's worst. One episode, Will alluded he was in the running for a government contract for a piston driven AR type rifle. Also, you may not know this, but he lost his FFL a while back for faulty record keeping according to Internet reports, and the show has been running on someone else's FFL since.

WOW. I had not heard the FFL thing. I enjoy the show myself, although I do admit half of my entertainment does come from laughing at the BS, or mumbling to myself "that's not how you do that".
My personal favorite episode was the one where the build the M2HB. I sat through it all with an OMG they are so lost, they need me, OH crap this is the episode where someone gets hurt.

Grain of salt and all that, It is TV after all.

Sisco, I can certainly believe it, shows like this and the OTHER redneck, hick for the sticks drama shows I am sure are fronted by the Democratic operatives to show American just how bad the white boys and girls are.

I certainly think of myself as a country boy and more redneck than not but I have all my teeth and I did not go to my family reunion to find my wife so I guess that lets me out...

be honest guilty pleasure and all that, there is some of that in the reason my son and I watch it.
Another classic was the time they basically made a pintle mount to put two M16' s side by side on a small boat, and had an overweight guy in an old camo bush hat portraying him as investigating it's purchase for Special Operations groups of the US military. Don Knotts would have been more believeable.

One of the NG producers has been trolling the militia websites since October last year offering to help with "image" issues.

"Good Afternoon Modern Militia Movement Members,

My name is Dani (middle name Sarah, which is what my friends call me) and I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and talk about why I wanted to become apart of this organization. By day, I am a producer working for major TV networks. I am currently working on a new series pertaining to current events around the world. One of my stories I am looking to tell is what our militias, groups, organizations and patriots are doing all over the country to help serve and protect themselves and their communities. When I started reading about militias, all I read was articles with negative connotations. It through me for a loop as to why everyone associated with these groups were considered bad. After speaking with individuals and groups about this negative image, my perspective changed. I also learned a thing or two. I not only wanted to make it my mission to make sure groups like yours got a chance to be heard, but I also started wanting to prepare myself for what's to come in the future. You all have taught me so much about what's really important in life. It would be my pleasure to help you and allow your voices to be heard on who you really are and what your groups are really about. If this is something that interests you, please send me a message. I would love to chat with anyone who wants to change their image and make our country well aware of what you are doing to help out. Thank you for your time.

some of the members there seemed to have verified who she was.........

I think Cowboy has hit the nail square, I emailed her asking to have a conversation. I forgot to misspell words or something, maybe I wasn't extreme enough for her to waste time on, she never got back, could be I wrote about my ethical concerns...........

And before anybody gives me crap for being on the site I've found it handy for connecting with like minded voters in my area and organizing some. I did one local meeting and soon tired of the video game scenarios that seems to be the focus but have watched the numbers grow on the map so I'll be back there come election time!

Red jacket.........makes it look like anybody can PLAY with guns and explosives, seems very irresponsible on the part of the producers. It's like a train wreck though, I have to look.

I watched a couple episodes HOPING that it wouldn't be another reality "soap opera". I was disappointed and only watch it now and then for the laugh out loud joke that it is.

If you look up corporate records for Red Jacket Firearms, L.L.C you'll see that neither Will Hayden nor Stephanie Hayden are listed as officers. They lost their FFL because 10 firearms disappeared. They claim it was just lower receivers that were ruined during gun smithing and it was all a records mistake. The listed officers are Joseph Whitney Meaux, Vincent Gordon Buckles, and Charles Riley Watson.

I did some research when I was getting my FFL just for fun mostly. I figured if they could get and keep their FFL why couldn't I? Seems they can't keep it, lost it and made a deal to use employees to get an FFL and stay in business. I still have mine and it is turning out to be more of a PITA than anything.

To the best of my knowledge... ArmaLite is only a sponsor of the Sons of Guns blog on GunsAndAmmo.com. Not of the show itself.

I do know at the very beginning of the show, they have a glimpse of an AR-50 in it though.

As for the rest of the show... I can't stand it.

With the few that I have seen, they try and make it like the rest of the industry is stupid and everything they make is the best thing since sliced bread.

One of the first shows I saw was them mounting a grenade launcher to an AR rifle... I had to explain to my girlfriend that, that was an old concept and it had already been done before. But for everybody else watching, and not knowing any different, they probably thought it was cool.

So reality T.V. my :censored: :censored: ... it's staged T.V. just like that other piece out in Colorado too!

SOG could do a reality show Trifecta if they would hire Chumlee from "Pawn Stars" to be the Shop Manager. :rotfl:
