I think Baked Beans are CRAP without a big healthy Chunk O Salt Pork in there and anyone who says otherwise won't be sharing no beans with ME lemme tell ya !!!!

I like em with Hot Dogs chopped up into em TOO sometimes and anyone with an issue with THAT can just go eat elsewhere by golly !!!!

Salt Pork is good, if you can't have that in them, you need at least a full pound of bacon to make up for it. Quick question(or dare). Name anything that does not taste better with bacon. I can't.

1 pound of chunked up Salt Pork is also the ONLY way to start a true homestyle pot of RI Style, CLEAR Clam Chowder...

Maybe one day some of you guys will get a taste of my personal recipe... :) (it's a generations hand me down :thumbs: )

That would make them beanie-weenies...Totally different food group.

Bacon is the magic pixie dust of foods. It makes EVERYthing taste better. I recommend Neuske's extra thick applewood smoked bacon. YUMMY!

I have an old old old butcher shop I used to take my motorcycle to way back in the Northwoods forest. You go in this farm, and there is a white stucco building in the middle of the farm buildings. No sign, you just walk in. There are 7 or 8 women in butcher smocks and aprons in there and you can order any cut of meat cheap. Their bacon is $3.25 a pound and is addictive! I am out now and have to get back there soon. Has spoiled me for store bought bacon.

Beans without some form of pork is a sacrilege!

Not too many years ago my hometown was the bacon capital of the world. I'm not sure where we rank now but they smoke the stuff 24-7 all year long in two plants. If the wind is right you'll find yourself getting hungry from the smell, if it is wrong then you smell all the by products that lead to that bacon, not so appetizing!
Funniest part is at about the time we lead the world in bacon our all-knowing town leaders decided to create a Donna Reed Day to promote the town. I'm pretty sure bacon days would have been a hit, :drool:, we get about 20 people that show up for the acting workshop they chose! :dry:
