Yesterday I got to shovel about 500,000 tons of snow and today, since I had bought the parts and new wax ring last week, AND since church was canceled, AND per my wife's suggestion, I was blessed with the opportunity to completely rebuild the upstairs toilet with a full remount.
I can't recall a weekend that I have had SO much fun...
That's what happens when you are "flush' with time and have a good "head" on your sholder. At least you didn't get any "Dear John" letters. We are getting snow today but nothing like you got.
You would've laughed. My satellite dish is WAY up on the roof (2 story house with trees close to it's almost at the peak) and the snow was blowing right at it so NO tv for my boys and I... The 4 of us played some board games for a while and then I said heck with it - it was dark and I wanted a little movie or something for when Cat and I went to bed so out I went...
I rigged a 10 ft piece of plastic gutter to a canoe paddle and then taped a hose to it, connected it to the spigot and couldn't reach. I added ANOTHER canoe paddle and STILL couldn't reach.
I cleaned off the picnic table, carried it through the snow over close to the house and reeeeeached and made it. Gave the dish a good dousing, started to climb from the picnic table to the deck and poof, right on my face in what was then 18 inches of snow.
I then crawled to the spigot, shut off the water that was spraying all over me cuz I had let go of my contraption and then walked into the house soaked.
It worked though - well, till morning. Then I had to do it all again... Less drama the second time...lol
I don't really remember much of it. I broke 4 bones in my left foot Tuesday. Went to the Doctor on Friday and he gave me Vicodin for the pain. Mr. Vicodin kicked my butt.
I woke up Saturday and had to snow blow in an air cast. Snow blower (10+ years old) wouldn't run. I had to tear the :censored: thing apart in -2º weather and finally got it running. I didn't dare take Vicodin and use the snow blower. Not the most fun but at least I didn't have to shovel it. ( Sorry Sharkey had to throw that in there. A little salt in the wound). I think it would still be there if I had to shovel.
Took two Vicodin after that and that was all she wrote. I think my wife fed me lunch but I couldn't swear to it.

Shoulda got the percocets. Right after having my face done, I was in lala land for just a couple of days and then saved the rest of the 60 the doc gave me for when I was OVER the pain...
I found that the pain tends to screw up my buzz...
