I tinker on stuff all the time and almost never send anything back for repair or replacement. I would much rather tweak it myself, then pay someone else and lose the satisfaction of doing it on my own.
What have you done or made to avoid spending money on something? What glimmer of creativity have you brought forth into the world?
This is funny but I make my own surf casting "bucket". Yea, it's a total custom job cuz I have so damn many surf fishing plugs and can't stand the thought of paying $300.00 bucks for a bag that will only hold about 10 plugs (if that) so I make my own bucket - complete with slots for articles of defense and all... Fisherman can be a bitchy bunch so it's always nice to have little goodies there to keep the rif raf from gettin too yappy...
My oldest son is 9 and he and I spend a lot of time at the ocean chasing striped bass that have to be at least 28 inches to keep and can get as big as 50 or 60 pounds so we like to bring everything we might need when we are out. A bucket does it for me and makes my Grumpy old Swamp Yankee Bastage that don't wanna be messed with Fashion Statement quite effectively...
Stripers are delish too so we live on em about 2 or 3 nights a week during the summer.
Here's a pic of last years model.
Once you get squared away buddy, you gotta plan a trip up so you can try your hand.

That is a great idea. You do realize that some of that stuff you are casting out is the size & weight of what I usually reel in. That's why i took up bow fishing.
Yep. I've got plugs that are 14 inches long that I usually throw in the fall when the big fat ones come down the coast on their way south.
Almost all of them are hand made by custom plug builders, many in my area, that all surf fish. I get some for free when I fish with a few of them and others I just get deals on when I can find em or butter the builder up well enough...
One plug builder from RI even made 3 plugs just for me and my sons and one says "Sharkey" the next size down says "Special Fred" and the smallest for my little guy says "Stormin Norman". Each and every plug I own has it's own personality and application and my oldest son is just beginning to learn it all. It's pretty cool and at 9, his biggest fish so far is just a hair shy of 37 inches and after a 20 minute, falling on his butt in the sand but still stickin with it fight, he was one happy and proud fisherman when I ran into the waves and grabbed it..
It's awesome watching them both catch.... traditions and pride...

I just love to tinker :cowboy:
Since I'm not familiar with those rifles, what did you start with and what did you do differently from other rifles of that kind Akai? Cool stuff by the way...
Take a look at the AK-47 group and join up free advice for members :twothumbs: (JK)
Started with a Polish underfolder kit, basically have to make a new receiver and get the correct amount of approved government parts 922R BS, Built a few of them so take a look!
I will and thanks for the invite. I DO know about the 922r crap cuz I just finished making my Benelli M4 legal with the full 9 round set up.
Not in to starting any new weapons at this point cuz who the heck knows if it'll ever get finished the way things are going but I'll definitely take a look Akai.
