Since many of us are vets, probably some of recent wars, and since ALL of us are here for our love of military style weapons, I like to think that we are ALL damn Patriotic men who stand buy our people in the field as well as soldiers in support.

I thought I would start a thread for our brave who stand out to all of us in one way or another, whether we know them personally or not.

As we all look through the interwebz and see tributes to soldiers who've fallen, who are suffering after serving, were wounded and are now an inspiration to others or just made us proud in one way shape or form, let's post what we find right here in this thread so we can all share it and be proud or maybe even extend a helping hand if possible.

I'll begin with a story and video of one soldier who has been through hell and is still standing tall and moving forward with his life in spite of traumatic injuries, a divorce and an uncertain future. If this guy is not an inspiration to others, then inspirations don't exist.

Let's see what we can dig up guys and show them that we here at AR10T.com are with them and behind them always and appreciate their sacrifices.

- and may God Bless our country and all who help keep our flag flying high and proud.

This link is to a photographic list of men and women we've lost in recent times and is updated constantly (and regrettably).

If you click on each photo, it tells the unit of each lost soul, who they are and what took them from us and their families.

Please look it over sometime and let's not forget we still have people out there takin the heat to the bad guys.

God Bless em all.

By Pauline Jelinek
The Associated Press

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — The Department of Defense says a Navy SEAL killed during a rescue operation in Afghanistan was a Pittsburgh-area man.

Defense officials are identifying the man as 28-year-old Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas D. Checque of Monroeville. That’s about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Checque died of combat related injuries suffered Saturday near Kabul, Afghanistan. Pentagon officials had previously said a SEAL was killed rescuing Dr. Dilip Joseph, an adviser for Morning Star Development who was abducted last week. He was rescued after intelligence showed he was in imminent danger of injury or possible death.

Joseph was rescued by SEAL Team Six, the same unit that killed Osama bin Laden last year.
