The short version.
Jobs not working out too well so I thought I'd piss away my gibill. get myself some schooling and maybe by the time I get out, things would be better.

surrounded by libtards all damn day. I knew it was bad, I heard the stories, but DAMN. I don't even know where to begin. The lack of logic and reason. the inability to grasp the most basic facts.

This is one of those "I should have stayed in the army" moments.

I know exactly where you are at. I'm just 6 weeks shy of getting a 2 year degree at the local community college, I'm done with these people for sure. From the text books to the teachers every class has been a one sided propaganda exercise. They go on and on with the crap, horrible humans are destroying the earth, all republicans are racist, actually they say all white people are racist, and of course real civilized people have no need for guns. What convinced me to stick it out was the idea that these people needed my help to see reality. I go after the socialist crap like a pit bull, filling message boards and interrupting class for corrections. I found the more vocal I got the more support I got from fellow students. The kids are just not used to speaking up in front of "authority"
Being close to completing this exercise in intellectual masturbation I'm starting to wonder what kind of people will want to hire me after two years of this crap. At least I didn't have to borrow the money!

One of my professors is sly about this shit. all semester she touted freedom, making informed decision, etc.etc. I was thinking at last I found one normal person... nope.
she let it out of the bag pretty one day what her concept of those things are. In her mind, goose stepping under government IS freedom and making informed decision means using only the information required to coerce the desired response.
She really does see being self sufficient as an "evil", she had mentioned things about "preppers" being selfish for their lifestyle because socially responsible people wouldn't need all that for themselves... it goes on and on and on...
The worst part, the part that bothers me, the number of students that swallow this and beg for more.

I feel ya...fortunately for me, there's quite a few prior service guys on the GI Bill in all of my classes, my history instructor is an officer in a Marine Reserve unit, and my major classes (Commercial Aviation) normally don't go to politics. When I was studying the "liberal arts" subjects, I hated life.

In 1987, I ETS'd to finish my degree. It's the one decision in my career that I wish I had a "do over" on. I stuck it out, got that stupid piece of paper and then hauled ass to the recruiting station to re-enlist.

Glad my engineering school was in a Red State where they called Maryland the "People's Republic" and going to the indoor range between classes was not uncommon.
