I wanted a new carry weapon as my Glock 21 is a bit to big in the summer and my .38 snubbie, while comfortable as can be is just not enough gun for me.
I went to DFW gun range in Dallas and tried out the Glock 30sf. I choose this weapon as it will take my Glock 21 mags at the range so I have more mags to shoot with. I am also reloading .45 so I have the same round rather than add the .40 cal. I was looking at a Glock 27 but choose the 30 to avoid another ammo type.
I am very pleased with the fit and performance of the Glock 30 SF. Feels just like my 21. A bit more muzzle rise but that's to be expected. Nice groups at 15-20 yards. Got the range guy excited when I blasted the last 10 rounds faster than ranges like. Got the PA system warning. LANE 10 NO RAPID FIRE!!! Blah blah blah. A real nice set in the head of my paper zombie at 10 yards. Only missed one shot but that took off his zombie ear.
As for carrying it has a little bigger print but not noticeable by anyone but me. I use a DeSantie Cozy Partner holster that feels real good but I do not like the leather loops. I'm going to see if I can replace them with metal belt clips.
Why carry a .45 instead of a smaller round like the .380?
Because shooting someone twice is just silly!!!! LOLOLOL .45 APC, when you absolutely positively have to kill them now. Not overnight!

This is a Photobucket shot. Not my actual weapon. I have the gen 3 30SF
