I realize this question has been asked many times before but here goes. I recently purchased a new AR-10T. I am looking to buy a scope and mount. Plan on mainly doing target shooting. Distance will probably be 100 to 200 yds at the range I have access to. Was just wanting some feedback with peoples experiences and preferences. Thanks.
There are better people to give you a difference between all the scopes out there than me. My only advice is to get the best quality optics you can afford. 1. If you want to take advantage of the full capability of the AR10T, you will need them.
2. Better quality scope manufacturers stand behind their products.
3. It will keep the resale value of your rifle higher, although I wouldn't think of selling right now. That said, I am very happy with my Nikon Monarch 4x16 with the Nikkoplex reticle on my AR10A4 standard.
Thanks for the info. That's in the price range of the $400-$650 that I would spend. Has anyone had any experience with the Nikon M-308 4-16x42? It comes with a scope mount.
I would have to agree on the above statement....
For the price of that scope...I would have to say go for it...
Wish that would have been around when I got my AR-10....
I could have saved a few bucks...
I have heard nothing but good things about Nikon...so my Advice...go for it...
if you get in the market for a Quick Detach mount...ADM would be the suggestion I would recommend...

This is just my personnel opinion, but have 2 TRS's (AR-10 and M1A) and and 1 LRS mounted on Rem 40X, all 308s for over a year and no problems. 1 of the LRSs had the reticle off from being perfectly straight up and down. At 500 yds it was about a degree off as compared to the top of the turret. Just rotated the scope in the mount to correct. Then again, many scopes have the verticle reticle off by a degree or 2. For a $300.00 scope, I'm more than happy.
I have sighted in the Nikon M-308 scope I bought. It has the Nikoplex reticle. I like it better than the BDC reticle but that's just personal preference. Have it zeroed at 100 yds. Shoots great. Have not had the time here lately to go somewhere to shoot over 100 yds. Have not shot any quality match grade ammo with the scope yet either. Overall a great scope for the money! Will post more on group sizes later when I sit down with some match grade ammo.
