Budget being a real concern in this economy this Millet scope looks perfect for the type of hunting/target shooting I hope to do.
Granted it's not what some of you big dogs have, but I'm thinking some poor ol hog is gonna get his head blown off from 200-300 yards out with this bad boy. Reviews look great. Can't wait to zero this puppy in.
So did ya get the new scope yet? I pick myself up a new red dot today at the gun show in robstown, haven't had it out yet but come monday we going to how it does.
I had no bench and the ground was covered in cattle weeds which are thorny. So I couldn't go prone or sit down. I have no sling yet.
At 25 yards 4X not too bad.
At 100 yards 10X .....not too good.
Compared to you guys I suck standing and shooting from 100 yards.
I hit the target and if it were a bad guy he'd be down.
But I sure would have been the low score on a Combat Ranger shooters line up. I'll be working on that.
What made you decide on the Millet scope vs. any other brand?
I've read a few reviews that were of significant portion that mentioned not holding zero or poor construction. Yours seems pretty solid and you seem pretty confident about the piece holding up.
Any insights as to why the Millet TRS-1 vs anything else? Any feedback on the Made in China aspect?
I asked a very knowledgeable member of this forum if they believed the purchase was a good deal. Based on that advice I purchased. I also read many reviews on the Millett 4-16X50 scope and only saw a few bad ones. Over all I saw happy customers. So I got one. For a sub $300 scope I believe it is well worth the money. The optics are clear and bright. The tube is waterproof, gas filled, fog proof, and has a lifetime warrantee. Should I encounter a problem I'll simply send it back.
I normally do not purchase items made outside the USA if I can help it.
But I also cannot afford a $700-$5000 scope either. So I had to weigh the options and made the purchase. I feels like a very solid piece of gear. How it holds up to multiple rounds is yet to be seen. But I'll keep ya posted. I was very surprised that it was damn near perfectly zero'd out of the box.
