having done the break-in proceedure(s) on my new AR10T i was just wondering if anyone has a favorite load that works well in their AR10T. i loaded nosler 168gr hpbt cuistom competion bullets over win 760 powder. the charges were 45gr to 49gr in .5gr increments. this worked pretty well, but maybe someone has a better idea. later, ya'll.

At present all I have shot is 168gr FGMM out of my "10T". The upper is 24" Lothar Walther/Stainless barrel. Recently I purchased a 16" upper off of Bob Downey(most excellent member here) and have been considering what ammo to break the barrel in with...and if it matters upon break in.
Why "waste" match ammo when I'm just breaking in a barrel?
I have a variety of 308 ammo for my bolt guns...and could use that for break in. Suggestions appreciated.
Take this all a step further...I just got back into reloading.
Couldn't pass up the price of admission. The reloading set up (RCBS) dies, powder, primers, brass, and so on is all set up for 308 and 30-06.
From the looks of it I can easily roll out 500 rds of 308 ammo without placing an order for anything. Here's a pic of the set up.

How much you pay for that set up?

First go here... www.ar10t.com/index.php?option=com_kunen...&id=10429&Itemid=270

Then try 42.0, 42.5 and 43gr of RE15 behind a 175 SMK. When you're at a nominal 2,500 fps or a bit more, you're in the pocket.

Three hundred and fifty bucks. Here is what I ended up getting...plus a nice shooting bench.
2 boxes 308 brass partially used
2 boxes 30.06 brass partially used
6 boxes nosler 165 gr.
3 boxes nosler 150 gr.
7 boxes sierra 150 165 180 gr.
a few partial boxes, and a large box of bulk 30 cal. bullets not sure on make.
1 box Winchester primers
IMR powder
5 cans 4895
2 cans 4064
2 cans 4350
and some partial cans
HODGDON powder
2 cans h322
1 can h4350
1 can 4895
all cans 3/4 full, or so.
ACCURATE powder
1 can 2460
RCBS scale
3 loading block
RCBS press
30.06 dies
308 dies
3 trimmers
1 lyman
1 RCBS
1 other not sure of brand
11 books on reloading
and various tools, and lubes for the loading process

Most of the above powder that the seller thought was 3/4 full...was actually new, sealed can's. He just never bothered to check them.

My first "pill" for the loader...using the above materials...i'm thinking...
165gr SBT...40.9gr IMR-4064...sending them out at around "2600". Have just started researching what I have...and once I get set up can get much more accurate with things. Right now I will be shooting off what I have in the cache'. My buddy has my back getting back into the reloading saddle. Back in the day...that's all we shot was reloads...that was back in the late 70's...early 80's. I'm actually looking forward to getting everything set up. For now we have other concerns...and once we get those tended to...will begin working on the loading room.

Will post some pictures of a little project I did on get the most out of my AR-10T and me also I still need to try different powder N see if it will do better most of my powder I've used is IMR 4064 R-15 but I've got 8# of viht-N140 on the way.

This is by doing factory crimp and see which bullets like it or not , the reason I did this is since We have to go by MAG length on semis We can't take advantage of getting close to the lands so by doing the lee crimp I've been getting better pressure consistency in my loads.

Ok
NOSLER do not like the crimp groups w/o crimp .60 to 1.10 " average with crimp they open to 1.60 to 2.00

Hornady A-MAX w/o crimp .40-.90" with 1.00-120"

Berger VLD Hunting w/o crimp 1.50-2.0 with crimp .35-.60"

Any Varget and/or H4895 users out there? I would like to hear what your charge weight is.

IS anyone getting bad ejector marks on their casings?
