Fixed buttstock sling swivel is in the way. was created by Charlie
The stock sling swivel on my 10 A4BF interferes with my Caldwell Solo machine rest. I don't want to just remove it because I use the sling. Are there any replacement swivels that are movable (or easily removable)?

I don't think there's a rear sling swivel like you're wanting out there. To go the other direction, is there any way you can modify the stock rest of the Solo to accept the AR-10 buttstock?

I have been using one of these in an A2 stock for years. lets you sling up with standard QD sling swivels.

Glad I could help, oddly enough it was the same problem that you have that lead me to this. I think I got mine from brownells, but that was an age ago.
If you ask me, This should be STANDARD on A2 stocks in the first place.

I tried to order from KNS. Price was OK, but even though they're in Texas they added tax(!), and then shipping was like $12.00 (ouch!). So I checked Midway, and they've got 'em for $12.99.

I just ordered a couple of them for my AR-10s. Midway also has KNS 1 1/4" parkerized swivels, $9.99 for a pair, and I got them too.

I have a 2 point sling and want to carry the rifle higher on my chest than the rear swivel mount permits. I'm looking for this type of attachment for the AR-10T stock which mounts on the front of the stock not the rear. www.opticsplanet.net/gg-g-remington-870-...d-sling-swivels.html

All of these types of swivel attachments I have found are for telescoping stocks which I don't want a telescoping stock. These swivel attachments are designed to slide over the tube of the sliding stocks and aren't advertised to work on a fixed stock. Does anyone know of one that is made for a fixed stock?

The parts arrived today. Installation was dirt simple. I didn't even mar the butt screw B) .

Note that the swivel base (although it is directional) does not exactly match the contours of the AR-10 stock, but it works like a charm.
