Congratulations on picking up a nice firearm. If you haven't already, start looking around for metric FN-FAL magazines, preferably new. Might try DS Arms. TheRock River factory high scope mount works very well, I have one on my AR10A4. BMS (Building my SASS) on this forum has some good recommendations for quick detachable scope mounts if that is what you want. You might check the manual, for break in recommendations. The RRA 308's have a 1 in 10 twist, so I am guessing best accuracy will be from 168 to 175 grain bullets. That varies from rifle to rifle, however, so it just takes time to see what yours will shoot best. As far as scope, get the best quality one you can afford. I learned that the hard way. That rifle will probably outshoot what a cheap scope will allow you to do. Don't be obsessed with a super high magnifying scope. You will find that intermediate variable power scopes have plenty of magnification, and are a lot easier to shoot as the image is easier to keep still. Again, I learned that the hard way. Good luck with it and welcome to the forum.

I grew up just north of the Triad in VA, and spent most of my career at Bragg south of there. So, yeah, I know where Yadkinville is. Good to have you along.
For the non-North Carolinians out there, the Triad is Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, NC. Three separate cities (and outlying towns) that have grown together over the years. So the area is collectively referred as the Triad.
