On a day like today I bare in mind those who will not be enjoying it with their families as well as those who won't be enjoying it at all.
I maintain a thread on a saltwater forum I'm a member of that is a list of soldiers we lose. I only started it in September (due to being pissed at the lack of appreciation and interest of those who serve by ALL of America) and since I started it, I have added 50 faces and names to the list. 4 new ones just on Monday...
God Bless our troops, those we've lost, and those families who will be sitting down today with an empty place reserved for one who has fallen - may God grant them strength and peace.
I'm a lucky man for being able to write this today, having a wonderful wife, 2 strong sons and the ability to enjoy and appreciate what I have.
We give thanks today for our safety and prosperity. Please also give thanks to the ones that bought and paid for it and those that are footing the bill for it now.
My son is serving in HI right now and this will be his first major holiday away from us. While we miss him and wish he were with us, we also understand at the cellular level the meaning of the terms Duty, Honor, and Selfless Service. "Bore, Brother, Bore!"
Just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a...... Happy Thanksgiving...... Enjoy the turkey dinner  and your family, and I am truly thankful for the extended family here at AR10T :twothumbs:

Lebben,
I just wanted to say that it's a damn fine thing to see that you not only served yourself, but instilled the same flames in your boy that made him sign up.
My boys are only 7 and 9 right now and although, it is indeed a scary time for all of America as well as our soldiers, carrying the message forward, the pride, the sense of duty and honor, are what has kept America strong for so long.
I only wish more Americans could see their way to doing the same as well as instilling the values that our country needs to survive.
